New Years Eve Wedding

A New Years Eve wedding was the last hurrah of 2016, it was a wonderful way to end the year, celebrating marriage, helping this sweet couple start 2017 in an incredible new way! The wedding was at lovely hotel in Neenah WI (The Best Western Bridgewood Resort) there was a beautiful stair case that made it wonderful to get a first look at, and some great wedding party shots. The first look makes a wedding so much more relaxed, it allows for the couple to see each other before seeing the guests and then have time before the wedding for wedding party photos. This saves a lot of in between time allowing for the couple to mingle much more quickly after the ceremony.

Here they are walking down the stairs just after the first look. It was the second marriage for both of them, they definitely have a true joy in being together, you could see they really cared for each other and needed each other, it was all so sweet.

Here is the entire wedding party on the stairs. The party included their children and close friends. Her vail was handmade and included snow flakes, she was a winter princess for sure.

This hotel was really incredible, it had an indoor Main Street, this allowed for a fun place to mingle and some unique indoor photos. Natural lighting on an overcast day is always ideal, but when it can't be done, places like this are incredible. We did try an outdoor photo, it looks beautiful from the comfort of home, but New Years Eve of 2017 was a very VERY cold day!

This photo below is with their children attempting to fight for their parents as they fought for their love, it was fun. As you can see they were quite the bunch. Definitely willing to laugh and have fun. This photo was taken in the hotel's Main Street.

Because the wedding was on New Years in Wisconsin the ceremony was a little bit later in the day then some weddings, it was at 4:00, and sadly, it was already dark out. The lights in the room were dim and the Officiant requested no flash, this was a bit challenge as the photographer, but we took it on.

Some other unique features to this wedding included: The Officiant was Randy's father, which made it extra special, instead of holding traditional bouquet the bridesmaids carried blue mason jars, with electric candles inside them. As you can see the walk way was also decorated with fun candles.

I love that Randy and Renee celebrated in their own way, they were content to express themselves and share their joy. It was such a pleasure to be there as they celebrated.

After the ceremony and cocktail hour guests were able to choose their own table, the bride and groom sat alone on a small table and they wedding party sat where they choose. They still did speeches, but were able to enjoy mingling with their family and friends. The first dance was before they ate. They prayed, were served the meal, and had toasts by whoever wanted to share. There were long time friends and family from all over the States, lots of meaningful words were said and a good time was had by all.

The lights were blue to go with the wedding colors, this certainly made for some different style photography.

After dinner they had a Coldstone Creamery Sundae bar, the tables were cleared and lounge furniture was brought in. This was the point were the evening ended for us as the photographers. But the night for this couple and their friends I am sure went on with great fun.

It was a unique and creative love filled wedding. And as always, a pleasure to be there and celebrate.
