Nicaragua Day 3
Today was a busy day but not with a lot to say really. We got up early and toured the hotel. The owner is an artist who has had this property in her family for a while from what I understand. There are over 80 acres on the land and wonderful fruit trees that I wish could grow in Wisconsin.
After this we went to our third Learning Center and did our second set of workshops. This was in Masatepe. The classes were held at a music school. It was cool for my son to see the Nicaragua Version of a School of Perfoming Arts, much like the one he attends in Stevens Point.
My first real involvement with W/NP was several years ago, I believe 2007 when I was asked to host a woman who was coming for a project called "Shawl's of Love" they made and modeled shawls. Her name was Myra. She showed her appreciation and awe at all that Wisconsin is and has done for her. Since then I have raised funding for a mixer for her center. I have visited and loved on her family. I was so happy to see her today at the center. This sweet girl with a twinkle in her eye is her grand daughter.
After the sessions, testimonies, and a delicious lunch we went to do a little sight seeing and shopping before heading back to the hotel. This is a Crater Lake in "La Caterina"
When we returned to the hotel we went for a walk down the street. The rest of my photos are just sights from our surroundings.
I was a day behind in my blog. I am caught up now. More to come tomorrow! Thank you, good night!
