Jake+Taylor

Jake's mom works with Stephanie (our main second shooter) at her day job. When Jake and Taylor's original photographer was unable to be a part of the wedding and let them know last January, we were fortunate to be the one's they called next.  I was a little nervous for the big day because Jake and Taylor had had some difficult circumstances just before the wedding. Jake and injured his hand pretty badly and Taylor had the flu the day before. Not to mention that when planning months in advance, we were all thinking a lovely Spring wedding, but when the day of their wedding came it ended up being the biggest snow storm of the year with 30 inches of snow in our area. Despite it all, they were great! They took it all in stride, they changed their expectations, and we really were there to celebrate their love and new life together. Their families were happy, they looked great, and we captured the day fully. Despite sickness, injury, and bad weather, which caused a several people not to make it, they celebrated and kicked off what I hope to be years of contentment in marriage with joy beyond the circumstances always.

We arrived at St Stan's in Point with a bit of time for getting ready images.

The guys are always ready and have a little bit of waiting time. Stephanie got a few great shots of them hanging out.

And finally the time came to line up and the service to begin. Jake entered with his parents first, followed by the bridal party, then Taylor and her parents.

There were songs accompanied by the pianist, two readings, one from Taylor's grandmother, the other from Jake's sister. The message was about love, and the priest had special words just for them.

The priest had everyone raise their hands and pray over Jake and Taylor, I had never seen that in this type of service before. It was nice.

Then came time for the vows and rings.

We had about 30 minutes for group and family photos in the Church following the service. We accomplished a lot in that time, but also did more at the reception. There was extra time between events, which was very nice. No need to rush especially with so much snow, no one wanted to rush.

Because of the snow we weren't able to really get away and capture much of the wedding party or just the two of them. But we did get a few.

The reception was at Rookies, the food was delicious, and the speeches were great. The best man made a sweet slide show to share with everyone.

There was some laughter during the cake cutting, and of course everyone enjoyed dessert.

The log was made by Jake. I also thought the cake topper was a cute and creative way to use those tin letters.

After a little time to digest the party was really kicked up with great dancing! Candi, from "Candi Shoppe" DJ service does a great job of getting everyone out and having a great time on the dance floor!

It was a pleasure to be there, on a day like that one it was sad for those who couldn't make it, but also there was no place better for those who could!

Thanks for reading!
